“Dr. Julian made me feel incredibly calm, safe, and validated when doing my first ever spinal tap blood patch. I have always felt very uncomfortable and anxious around needles. Dr. Julian and staff were incredibly understanding and accommodating and made me feel as comfortable as possible throughout the whole experience. Everyone involved was super knowledgeable, kind, and chill - which is exactly what I needed. The staff were humorous from walking in to walking out, which helped take the edge off, too. Dr. Julian let me choose the music to put in the speakers during the blood patch, which added to my overall comfort throughout the procedure. They also let me bring fidget toys into the procedure which was so helpful in calming me down. The procedure itself was as easy as it could’ve been. It exceeded my hopes for how it would go. The sterile blood draw was a breeze, the numbing shot in my back was exactly as Dr. Julian described - a bee sting with some temporary discomfort in the area, and the spinal tap itself was somehow easier than the first two needles! I could feel some of the pressure, but it was more of a mental discomfort than a physical discomfort. The awareness of a needle in my spine was worse than the feeling of it. Dr. Julian kept checking in on how I was doing and what I was feeling by asking direct questions. Dr. Julian set very clear and accurate expectations from the procedure, from the sensations I would feel, to the questions she would ask me, to the timing of the whole experience. She described everything that she was doing so there were no surprises along the way. I hope I don’t ever need another spinal tap, but if I do, I will be making another three hour drive to see Dr. Julian!”

“I absolutely love this clinic, Dr. Fisk, and the rest of the medical team. They are amazing people who genuinely care about helping their patients find relief.
