What patients say on Google

“I’ve had treatment resistant depression for about 10 years. I’ve tried all manner of meds, diets, exercises, therapies, and a round of TMS. I don’t discount that work but I was never able to shake the lingering depression. Ketamine has changed my life (so far). I had 6 sessions and this is the lightest I’ve felt mentally/physically in a long long time. Dr. Garcia makes the appointments feel very personalized which I enjoyed as often times these treatments are generalized. I plan on continuing my booster shots with Dr. Garcia. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for some relief from their mental health, to look into ketamine therapy, specifically Lumus Therapy.”
Kay Shepherd
“I came to Lumus with very high anxiety and depression scores. After 6 infusions my scores dropped dramatically with my scores at 0. I highly recommend Dr Garcia and his team as they provided me with exceptional level care. In addition to the ketamine infusions Dr Garcia is a highly skilled talk therapist”

“I came in with depression and anxiety and left with a positive outlook on life, experienced inner peace, found and healed my inner child, learned to forgive and let go of childhood trauma, learned to breathe to control stress, and express myself more freely. All within two weeks. I gained more insight in two weeks than a lifetime of traveling or meditation would do. I picked this clinic out of all the others in the area because it was run by a psychiatrist instead of an anesthesiologist. I wanted someone to treat the root cause of mental pain. Not someone that treats you like a bag of meat to pump with drugs. Dr Garcia works with you to develop a customized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals. The level of personalized care is phenomenal. Angelica and Dr Garcia even went above and beyond to open on New Year’s Eve to squeeze in all six infusions. Angelica and Dr Garcia has seen and treated all mental conditions so you are in good hands. You have a comfortable chair, soft blanket, plushy eye mask, and relaxing music. It’s like a massage spa for your mind. The atmosphere is a warm and safe place where you can openly share your deepest vulnerabilities. If you are looking a New Year’s resolution, ketamine therapy at lumus mind is highly recommended. I thought my laser eye surgery was eye opening. This is way better. You see with your mind. Not your eyes. Worth every penny. If I were to describe how ketamine felt, it was like my mind was separating from my body. I detach myself from the physical pain and worries or reality to reconnect with my spiritual side. By taking a step back and looking myself from a third person point of view become a detached observer. My subconscious mind begins to resolve my internal thoughts automatically. I see many colors and scenery. Sometimes I am flying through space and sometimes am just relaxing. It’s like being in virtual reality. It’s is deeply cathartic. The mind becomes fluid and adaptable to new situations. The anxiety just melts away leaving behind inner peace. Pleasure is the absence of pain. Stimulant drugs have a “high” feeling. Suppressors have a “low” feeling. Ketamine has is neither. It is a step back and detach feeling. The “high” feeling is the weight of depression being lifted from the mind. The infusion lasts about forty minutes with another forty of recovery. Dr Garcia checks in with me before and after the infusion to see how I am doing. Not allowed to eat or drink before infusions so right afterwards my brother and I will go out for big lunch to feed the new brain cells that are regenerating. Then I go home and take a long deep nap. Wake up and then is the best time to work on the integration process of ketamine therapy. Integration is very important, even more than the infusion. This is when I sit down and organize my thoughts to strengthen those new insights formed during the infusion. Without integration the brain will go back to using those bad neural pathways. Our mental thoughts come from the physical-electrical-chemical connections between the synapses. I keep a journal. Dr Garcia gives some questions to get started. I give him my journal at the start of every infusion so he can see my progress. I, like many Asians did not grow up in an emotionally stable household. I had abusive, authoritarian, and narcissistic parents who did not provide proper emotion support since they did not have it either. Eventually this cycle of generational trauma becomes so ingrained that it becomes normal to that culture. It is even called “shame-based” culture. Mental health is still very taboo subject in Asian culture. I will tell you emotional damage is not normal. Living with depression and anxiety is not normal. I was emotionally repressed for a long time but unlike the rest of my family I wanted to do something about it. With Ketamine therapy I found myself. Perhaps your path is similar to mine. If so, I highly recommend you give ketamine therapy a try. Thank you Angelica and Dr. Garcia for showing me a life worth living.”
